Murray Nicholls hit a hat-trick to give a revitalised Highfield a 3-1 win at Star Wanderers in the Marston's Oxford Sunday League President's Cup quarter- finals.

Nicholls fired Highfield, who were boosted by the arrival of several new signings, ahead after just six minutes.

Star kept battling, but it wasn't until ten minutes from time that they equalised when Danny Taylor tapped in after a scramble following Jamie Hodges's effort.

However, Highfield's response was almost immediate as Nicholls grabbed his second.

Star chased the game late into injury time, but their fate was sealed when Nicholls broke away to complete his hat-trick and seal Highfield's victory.

Three-times winners Cold Arbour went out at the first hurdle after a 3-2 extra-time defeat against Oxford Yellows.

Aaron Williams scored direct from a corner to give Arbour a 10th-minute lead.

Although Craig Manion levelled from the penalty spot, Craig Bloomfield restored their lead.

And they looked to have made the semi-finals, only for a Rocky Whiting strike to ensure extra time.

Yellows went ahead in the first period of extra time through Chris Haines.

Arbour were reduced to ten men in the second period when Jamie Brackett went off injured.

In Division 1, Greg Pesto scored twice to earn Mansfield Road Res a 2-2 draw at home to Wychwood Forest.

Jason Trinder and Frank Berlingham replied for Wychwood.

Charlie Littledale's late goal gave AFC Watlington a 3-2 victory at Yellow Eagles.

Carl Simpson had opened the scoring for Eagles midway through the first period.

Adam Treacher poked home Watlington's equaliser before the break, and they took the lead early in the second period when Martin Newbould converted following another long throw.

Danny Morgan levelled with a 25-yard drive 15 minutes from time, but Littledale had the last word for Watlington.

Cowley Rovers drew 2-2 with Marston Saints.

Cowley took the lead through Russell McSweeny early on, before Liam Hatt equalised.

After the break, Cowley regained the lead through Mohammed Abdal, only for Daniel Jones to level through a controversial 89th-minute penalty.

A James Quainton strike gave Chalgrove a 1-0 win at AFC Boudika.
