Andy Allum cracked in five goals as Cholsey destroyed mid-table hosts Purley 7-1 to go nine points clear at the top of the Premier Division in the Reading Sunday League.

Cholsey led only 2-0 at half-time, thanks to Andy Allum's first goal and player-manager Chris Allum's deflected effort from a corner for his first of the season.

Purley did not give up, and returning Cholsey keeper, Garry Clark had to be on the alert.

After half-time, Andy Allum took the game by the scruff of the neck as his pace, power and excellent finishing brought him four more goals.

He then whipped in an excellent cross for Andrew Gibbons to head home Cholsey's seventh.

Purley's reply was a penalty, after a clumsy challenge by Cholsey's wing back Carl Fisher.
