FREELAND beat visitors Launton Sports 3-0 to extend their unbeaten season in the Oxfordshire Senior League to a dozen games.

Goals from Liam Harris, Danny Taylor and a Tom McCudden penalty moved the hosts to within seven points of Cropredy, with four games in hand.

Cropredy were in Ben Turner Cup action, winning 2-1 at Middleton Cheney after extra-time to reach the semi-finals.

Chay Buckingham put them ahead before half-time, but the hosts levelled through Craig Nixon on 65 minutes.

Cropredy had keeper Kurt Fox sent off in extra-time, but Buckingham struck again to send the ten men through.

Tom Horne and Will Hicks scored hat-tricks as Cropredy Res beat visitors Horspath Res 7-4 in Division 2.

Tom Goddard completed the scoring for the hosts, while Oliver Zaja netted a four-timer for Horspath.

A TRIO of players hit hat-tricks as Original Swan beat Union Street 11-0 in the Oxford City FA’s Premier Cup.

Ben Curtis, Neil Lockhart and Bradley Walton bagged trebles in the quarter-final, with Tai Thomas and Sean Lurcombe also on target.

Dorchester reached the last four with a 4-1 home win over East Oxford.

Jordan Lyne scored twice, while Miles Southon and an own goal completed the scoring for the hosts.

Mark Grisbrooke netted the visitors’ consolation.

VALE of White Horse Under 14s’ defence of the Williams Cup ended with a 4-0 defeat at Southampton in the semi-finals.

The depleted visitors trailed 2-0 at the break and rarely looked like staging a comeback, with Southampton going on to score two more.
