Goalkeeper Darren Mole was the hero for Six Bells Kidlington as his save helped his side lift the OFA Sam Waters Cup with a dramatic 5-3 penalty shoot-out win against Barton United at Oxford City, writes GEOFF BOWER.

With the sides locked at 2-2 after extra-time, Mole kept out Barton's fourth spot-kick, before Lee Cooke slotted home the winner as Six Bells took the cup for the fifth time.

Starting as favourites to win the all-Morrells of Oxford Sunday League clash, Bells got off to a flier when Lee Cooke gave them a third-minute lead after charging down a clearance from the Barton keeper.

But Six Bells celebrations had hardly died down when Aaron Armstrong lobbed home the equaliser from the edge of the area.

At the other end, Mark Simms cracked a shot against the bar, before Bells restored their lead.

Simms then broke down the left before his cross was brilliantly headed in by Luke Holden at the far post to restore Bells lead on ten minutes.

After the break, Barton got back into the game and were rewarded for their hard work when Colin Ryan was brought down, Armstrong slotting home the resulting penalty to ensure extra-time.

When that ended goalless, the game went down to the dreaded penalty shoot-out.

All the spot-kicks were put away until Mole kept out Barton's fourth, before Cooke fired in the winner.

Barton have the chance to get some silverware on April 22 when they take on Cold Arbour in the final of the President's Cup.

Arbour reached the final for the third season in a row with a 1-0 victory against Mansfield Road.

In a tight game it wasn't until the 30th minute that Arbour made the break- through, Paul Bough finishing off a slick move with a clinical finish.

The nearest Mansfield came to levelling was when an Arbour defender headed against his own crossbar.
