Adam Wells hit a hat-trick and with John Webb (2), Aaron Perisi, Carl Bowen and Michael Trafford also netting, Red Lion just had the edge.

John Hawkins smashed a hat-trick for Rutherford, but his side remained pointless, despite further strikes from John Watts (2) and siblings Sam and Dave Templeman.

Joey Beauchamp hit a hat-trick as Northway Res completed the double over White Horse Abingdon in a 5-0 home win. Bilal Khan and Shaun Augustine also netted.

Dave Woodley’s double gave Checkendon Exiles their first win of the season with a 2-1 home success over Sutton Wanderers. Chris Stringer replied for Wanderers.

Woodstock Wanderers went top of Division 3 with a 4-0 win over Green Tree Wallingford, thanks to Ryan Thorne (2) Sean Dyer and David Bray.
