BANBURY captain Ian Hawtin pulled few punches when assessing his side’s Bernard Tollett Oxfordshire Cup final defeat to Shipton-under-Wychwood.
Although Banbury went close to defending their paltry total of 100-8, Hawtin found few positives.
“We batted poorly, really,” said Hawtin. “It is probably the story of our season, our batting let us down.
“We have got to think about how we set totals and make better use of our overs.
“I thought Shipton played really well. It was a credit to them.
“Tim Senior batted well and took his chances.”
