OCA League Divisions 1-4

SAM Stoop claimed a five-wicket haul as Westbury skittled East Oxford for 80 in Division 1 on Saturday.

Stoop’s haul of 5-30 sealed a 97-run victory for the defending champions after they had been bowled out for 177.

There had been plenty of contributions in Westbury’s innings, but the biggest of these was extras as East Oxford conceded 34 of them.

Minster Lovell recorded their first win in emphatic style by ending the 100 per cent record of Shrivenham with an eight-wicket win.

They had restricted the home side to 199-3, Mark Whale top-scoring with 88 not out.

Minster eased home with more than two overs to spare as Nathan Harris hit 64 and Jack Simpson 53 not out.

Garsington’s unbeaten record also came to an end as they lost by five wickets at home to Horley.

They were bowled out for 149, before Darren De Bruyn (50no) saw Horley to victory.

Charlbury edged past Marcham by three wickets.

Nick Giles (98) saw the home side to 219-7, but 46 from Iyanka Cooray led Charlbury’s successful run chase.

Tetsworth’s miserable start to the season continued as they lost by 63 runs against Great Horwood.

Gary Lee (60no) starred in Horwood’s 153-8, before Neil Wilkins took 5-22 as Tetsworth were shot out for 90.

Sean Holley hit 105 not out, but it was in vain as Stonesfield lost by five wickets at Hook Norton in Division 2.

Stonesfield scored 210-7, before Hooky reached 211-5, with Adam Webb scoring 77 and Paul Souch 72 not out.

Ian Oglesby’s 5-31 led the way as Faringdon dismissed Witney Swifts for 117.

Tim Thurston then top-scored with 47 not out as Faringdon eased to a nine-wicket win.

Morley Benson led Clifton Hampden to a four-wicket win at home to Chadlington in Division 3.

Thirteen-year-old debutant Arthur Beard returned 3-17 as the visitors fell to 125 all out, before Benson hit 71 not out to see Clifton to 128-6.

East & West Hendred marched on with an eight-wicket victory at Eynsham.

Chasing Eynsham’s 169-8, Ivan Mulford (78no) and Ian Clewley (67) took Hendred to victory.

Watlington’s perfect record was maintained with a thril-ling last-ball three-wicket win at Combe.

The home side were restricted to 150-7, then Watlington edged to 151-7.

In Division 4, Stuart Leece claimed 5-17 to help Deddington to a six-wicket win at Oxford Rescue.

Rescue were bowled out for 123, before Steve Welch hit 42 to see Deddington home.

Wootton & Boars Hill saw off Hailey by five wickets.

Omar Hussain’s 81 helped Hailey to 228 all out, before John Perkins (78) and Mark Gresham (50) saw Wootton to 230-5.

Chipping Norton fell to their first defeat as they were beaten by Britwell Salome, who remain unbeaten.

Chippy’s total of 133-9 never looked like being enough as Kevin Slater (42no) led Brit-well to victory.

Half centuries from Manley Du Preez and Simon Huxtable saw Radley to a three-wicket win at Charlbury 2nd.

Fringford narrowly defeated Kennington by two wickets.

John Bacon (4-22) was the pick of Fringford’s bowling in Kennington’s 152 all out, which Fringford reached with eight wickets down.
