Thame Town had to settle for a draw against Reading in Saturday’s Division 2 West clash.
Thame elected to bat first, and were quickly in trouble at 10-3 and 40-4.
But Sam Lachlan’s fine half-century and 45 from Manoj Parmar steadied the ship.
An explosive 41 not out from Ed Barnett saw Thame to a competitive total of 209-7.
Thame were quickly on top in Reading’s reply, reducing them to 52-4.
But they found David Barr in stubborn mood as his 70 not out ensured the hosts closed on 200-8.
