OXFORDSHIRE continued their winning start to the ECB Women’s County Championship with a third straight victory at Buckinghamshire.

Ellie Norton (3-13) and Charley Noble (3-16) starred with the ball to dismiss their hosts for 92 in the Division 3 Group C fixture.

Oxon reached the total in 18.2 overs, with Sophie Mitchelmore finishing on 36 not out.

Meanwhile, Oxon started their ECB 50+ County Championship Group 4 campaign with back-to-back wins.

Mick Simpson took 4-28 before an unbeaten 71 from Darryl Woods helped them beat Worcestershire by seven wickets at Challow & Childrey CC.

Woods (74no) and Paul Hemming (47no) helped Oxon overcome Wales by nine wickets at Banbury CC after Richard Treadwell claimed 3-28.

In the National Over 60 Championships, Oxon were unable to score the required winning run off the last ball as they tied their game against Buckinghamshire.

Robin Pykett took 4-28 and Peter Burrows hit an unbeaten 59 in the South Central Group fixture.

The B side got back to winning ways in the Over 60’s 2nd XI Championship, beating Buckinghamshire B by 83 runs at Chesham CC.

Andy Haynes (57) helped the visitors post 228-9, before David Beck claimed 3-17 as the hosts finished well short in the South Central clash.
