A MAGNIFICENT unbeaten 169 from Banbury captain Benji Hector and a century from Chris Smith proved in vain as they were held to a draw at home to Henley on Saturday.

Batting first, Banbury racked up the runs, posting 334-3 declared.

Banbury had Henley reeling on 25-3, but they recovered well with Adrian Greyvenstein top-scoring with 67.

He was ably assisted by Bjorn Mordt who made 52.

The pick of the Banbury bowlers was Ryan Newhook, who captured 3-87.
