JUDY Howard helped Great Britain win two team bronze medals at the World Masters Championships in Lyon, France.

Howard, of Abingdon AC, who came 13th in the W55 category in the 10k road race walk and tenth in the 20k, combined with Ann Wheeler and Fiona Bishop to earn a medal.

She was also 13th in the 5,000m walk, crossing in 32mins 51.8secs.

In the W80-84 category, Muriel Ramsell finished fifth.

Noel Blatchford came close to a W65 medal in the 5k,10k and 20k, finishing fourth in all three events.

Clubmate Naomi Sharma was 28th in the W45 10k.

In the men’s, Pete Stepney (M55), also of Abingdon, reached the semi-finals of the 400m hurdles.

OXFORD City AC’s Jade O’Dowda won two medals at the South of England AA U15/U17 Championships in Ashford.

The 15-year-old won silver in the U17 high jump with 1.65m and set her second fastest time of 11.65secs to earn bronze in the 80m hurdles.

Clubmate Katie Hetherington was fourth in the U17 high jump (1.60), while Ella Turner was fourth in the heats of the U15 200m (27.1).
