WITNEY put in a valiant performance, despite losing 33-14 at second-placed Old Centralians.
Two converted tries put Centralians ahead and a rout looked on.
Scrum half Gareth Campbell’s interception try, converted by fly half Henry Lamb, gave Witney hope.
But Centralians managed three more tries, two converted, thanks to some relentless pressure.
Lock Charlie Bennett created Witney’s second try for wing James Monks, Lamb converting.
