CHIPPING Norton’s Sean Walkinshaw secured a season’s-best second place in the final round of the InterSteps Championship at Croft, in Yorkshire.
Lining-up third on the grid, the 18-year-old fell back to fifth, before moving up to third. He then sliced past Matt Parry on the final lap to take a superb second.
In the opening race, a clutch problem led to a slow getaway, but he recovered to take fourth, before finishing sixth in the second race.
This weekend, Walkinshaw competes in the final two rounds of the Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship at Silverstone.
