Didcot Town manager Dave Mudge is warning his side against complacency when they host Abingdon United in tomorrow’s FA Cup preliminary round tie at Loop Meadow Stadium.

The Railwaymen beat one of the favourites for promotion Yate Town 2-0 in last week’s opener and drew 2-2 at highly-fancied Sholing in midweek.

Abingdon drew 0-0 at Tiverton, but lost 3-1 at home to Swindon Supermarine. But Mudge is not getting carried away.

“It will be a tough one and we will give them the respect they deserve,” said Mudge.

“Abingdon haven’t had the best of starts, but they will be up for it.

“If we play as I know we can we will win, if we don’t we won’t.

“I would have been happy to get four points from our first three games, so to get them in two is very pleasing.

“But these games are a one-off and league form goes out the window.

“It’s all about the attitude on the day.” Didcot will be without Elliot Osborne-Ricketts (banned), while Abingdon add Kevin Halliday and Stuart Young.

Abingdon boss Richie Bourne added: “Mudgie watched us on Tuesday and I don’t think he learned much because we changed our shape three times!

“We were well beaten on Tuesday, so our lads will want to bounce back quickly.”

North Leigh manager Mark Gee is keen to go on a good cup run, starting with the visit of Thame United.

But Gee says it won’t be easy against the Hellenic League side.

He said: “We played them in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup last season (North Leigh won 2-1) and they gave us a good game.

“They are no mugs and took the scalp of Brackley last season.”

North Leigh will be at full strength.
