Gloucester City    0
Oxford City        1 (Mills 73)

A SUPERB free-kick from Jack Mills earned Oxford City their first win of the Blue Square Bet North season at Gloucester City.

Midfielder Mills curled his shot into the top corner on 73 minutes to give City a vital three points.

Nabil Sharif was bearing down on goal when he was fouled by Gloucester’s Matt Coupe.

Coupe received a red card for his troubles and Mills punished the home side further.

City keeper Warren Carter saved early efforts from Gloucester’s Darren Edwards and Will Morford.

Sharif almost put City ahead in the first half when he fired a shot against a post.

But, at the other end, Gloucester’s Darren Mullings clipped the bar with a header from Mike Green’s Cross.

Home keeper Connor Thompson pushed Declan Benjamin’s effort away for a corner just before the break.

Early in the second half, Carter made a good save to deny Mullings.

Gloucester lost momentum after Coupe’s sending-off and City closed out for victory without too many alarms.
