Reigning champions Cricketers B are the new Greene King Oxford & District League Premier Section leaders following a 3-0 win at home to Three Pigeons in their top-of-the-table battle, writes ANDY BEAL.
However, the match was much closer than the scoreline indicates with Cricketers winning the opening leg 28-26, before taking the next two 24-23. Ivor Clarke (5-5-3) top-scored for the Cricketers with 13 dolls.
Billy Trinder and Martin Ruffels hit 5-4-5 for 14 dolls apiece for Garsington Sports A, but it was not enough to stop New Club A posting a 2-1 home win.
The first leg was tied 24-24 with New Club taking it on three sticks. They took the next 29-24, before Garsington finished strongly to win the last 33-21.

Alan Holt (5-6-4) was the week’s top scorer with 15 dolls as Section 2 strugglers Black Prince posted a 2-1 win at home to the Griffin.
Colin Butler (4-5-2) led the way with 11 dolls as leaders Vikings B won 3-0 at home to Six Bells Quarry.

In Section 7, second-placed Nut Tree had a scare before winning 2-1 at home to Red Lion Yarnton, with anchor man Martin Pratley whipping off the four dolls needed to take the deciding leg with a stick to spare.
Corner House’s Nigel DeBanks had mixed fortunes in their 2-1 home win over Prince of Wales Horspath Road in Section 10 .
He started off with a blob, before hitting a six in the next leg and then finished off with a three.
Colin Fox (4-5-4) hit 13 dolls as Kennington Social Club B inflicted only the second defeat of the season on Section 10 leaders Priory with a 2-1 home win.
