Didcot Conservative Club bounced back from last week’s reverse to beat Democrats 5-1 in Group A of the Johnsons Buildbase Summer League.
Jenny Florey, Sue Atkins and top-scorer Dave Tooke put the home side 3-0 up.
Eddie Tebby pulled a game back, but Tooke and Atkins completed victory.
Marlborough came unstuck in Group B, crashing 4-2 at home to Bletchingdon.
Pete Soanes and Andy Skinner put Bletchingdon 2-0 in front, only for Chris Bateman to reduce the deficit.
Soanes made it 3-1, but after Pete Rose’s win set up an exciting last match, Shaun Broadbanks held his nerve to beat Bateman 3540-1880 and seal victory.
