County girls round-up

OXFORDSHIRE emerged from a busy period of three games in five days with two wins and a defeat to keep their hopes alive in the ECB Under 17 Girls County Championship.

Oxon were beaten by Hampshire at Tiddington on Sunday, but bounced back to win against Berkshire at Charlbury on Tuesday and Gloucestershire at Thornbury on Wednesday.

Chloe Dowhunek starred with successive 50s against Berks and Gloucs, while Linsey Smith made 88 against the latter.

  • TWO wins on the trot against Dorset and Hampshire respectively boosted Oxfordshire’s title hopes in the ECB Under 15 County Championship.

On Sunday, Oxon eased to a five-wicket win against Dorset at Magdalen College School.

Then on Thursday, they beat Hampshire by 15 runs to go fourth in the table.

A superb spell of 4-17 from Harriett Boland proved the difference in Hampshire.
