Oxford City Stars have  re-signed long-serving player Nick Oliver and promoted promising junior Michael Raff to the senior ranks.
Oliver made his first appearance for the Stars in the 2003 season and was  soon a mainstay of their team.
An experienced forward, he finished in the top ten scorers in English National Ice Hockey League Division 2 in the 2010-11 season, averaging more than two points a game.
He took over the captaincy last season, when he averaged a point a game.
Raff, 16, on the other hand, is at the start of his career.
A product of the Oxford junior system, he played at both under 16 and under 18 level last season.
He scored 133 points from just 35 games and will hope to bring some of this explosive point-scoring into the senior team.
As well as playing for the Stars, Raff will continue to ice for the under 18s.
Speaking about the signings, coach Jeff Sykora said: “Nick Oliver is a key player to retain.
“Last year he was a backbone for the team and we expect the same consistent work from him this year.
“We are very excited to sign  Mike Raff.
“We expect big things from him.”
