TIDDINGTON'S slide continued when they were bowled out for only 60 on the way to a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of Oxford Downs 2nd.

Jack Sopett snapped up 3-8 and Steve Roberts 3-16 as the visitors’ innings was wrapped up inside 34 overs.

George Sandbach (36no) steered Downs to victory in only 8.3 overs.

Tiddington won their first three matches, but have not tasted victory since.

Sandford St Martin are heading for Division 3 while their conquerors on Saturday could be going in the opposite direction.

Twyford returned to the top by dismissing Sandford for 88, with left-arm spinner Bilal Afzal claiming 4-10.

Josh Goff’s 34 helped the hosts reach 91-4.

Twyford are joined in the top two by Challow & Childrey, who beat morning leaders Oxford 2nd by 43 runs.

Challow made 176-7 from their 53 overs, with Joe Harris (38) and Patrick Bryan (36) to the fore.

Ian Evans was the pick of the home side’s attack with 4-43.

Taylor Beatty’s 50 gave Oxford hope, but Adam Tucker took 5-50 and Harris 3-24 as the hosts fell for 133.

Abingdon Vale collected maximum points for the first time since June 9 and so edged Aston Rowant 2nd closer to the likely relegation zone.

Joe Butcher (4-39) ripped through the Rowant line-up, with only Ryan Chapman’s 68 giving them a total to defend.

Vale passed the visitors’ 114 all out with four wickets down, skipper Graham Charlesworth leading the way with undefeated 37.

Long Marston looked sure to win after rolling over Wolverton Town for only 92, Pete Toovey taking 5-34 and Simon McCleman 5-45.

But Town fought back through Ash Rayf (6-25) as Marston collapsed to 66 all out.
