Thame Town’s relegation worries increased after they crashed to 71 all out in an 82-run defeat by Slough in Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League Division 2 West at Church Meadow.

Thame, who had dismissed Slough for 153 after winning the toss and putting the visitors in to bat, had no answer to the spin of Zulfiqar Butt, who took 6-14 off 21 overs, New signing Jesol Rathod was one of only four batsmen to make double figures as Thame were bowled out off 42 overs.

It was a tale of woe with two early lbw decisions against James Neilson and skipper Mike Higgs not helping Thame’s cause as Manoj Parmar (20) ended up top-scoring.

Earlier, Vandit Jivrajani had taken 4-41 off 18.3 overs and Hiran Desai 2-9 as Slough also found runs hard to come by, Shaan Kahn top-scoring with 42.
