Oxford City stars have announced their first defensive signings of the season in Andy Cox and James Clarke.
They return to the re-formed club whose National League Division 2 South campaign begins in September.
Cox came through Oxford’s juniors and was a stalwart in the Stars’ National League Division 1 side from 2003 until they folded in January.
The versatile Cox has also played up front.
Clarke first played for Oxford in 1993-94 and last season won the best defenceman, coach’s player and player’s player awards for Stars’ second team.
Oxford coach Jeff Sykora said: “Two strong defensemen like Clarke and Cox are going to make a huge impact.
“Having Clarke back ensures that our intensity will remain high and the addition of Cox is very exciting, providing some much needed home-grown experience on the blue line.”
