Emma McDermott provided Oxonian with a home victory in their 25-mile open event on the A420 at Southmoor.

McDermott completed the course in 1hr 5mins 25secs, more than seven minutes ahead of her nearest rival, Zoe Ludwig, of Didcot Phoenix.

Oxonian Ingrid Anson came in four minutes later to claim third place.

The event was run for the Freddie Green Memorial Trophy Mark Cox, of Fairly United, was victorious in the men’s race in a time of 56.45.

He finished 12 seconds ahead of Mid Oxon’s Eamon Deeley, with Adam Willington, from Oxford City, seven seconds back in third.

Malcolm Rose was the fastest Oxonian rider, his time of 57.06 earning him the Broadribb Cup as 40 riders braved the conditions.
