Another devastating display from skipper Wesley Morrick led Aston Rowant to a convincing six-wicket win against Falkland on Saturday and lift his team to third in the Serious Crucket Home Counties Premier League Division 2 West table.

Morrick took his wicket-tally to 21 in the past four games with a destructive of spell of 7-45 with his medium pace to shoot out Falkland for 101, following which a home win was never in doubt.

After asking Falkland to bat first, Rowant struck first when Glen Carlton removed opener Sam Piper with only eight runs on the board.

Morrick then made short work of the rest of the Falkland batting line-up, with the assitance of wicket-keeper Thad Cooper, who took a total of five catches Falkand were all out in the 37th over, giving Rowant plenty of time to get the runs.

However with the hosts wobbling at 43-4, Falkland must have thought that they could get something from the match.

But Cooper and 17-year-old Adam Muttitt saw Rowant home without further alarm.
