THAME Town captain Mike Higgs has challenged his side to pull away from the drop zone in the next two matches.

Higgs’s men visit Gerrards Cross in Division 2 West tomorrow hoping for a second successive victory against opponents just below them.

“It is a big chance for us,” said Higgs, who has named an unchanged XI.

“We always have good games against them. If we can get a win this week and next, that will give us some daylight at the halfway point of the season.”

Aston Rowant add Chris Eaton to their squad to host Falkland as they wait on the availability of all-rounder Nick Ferraby.

Rowant lie fifth, but are only 25 points behind leaders Dinton.

Captain Wesley Morrick said: “It is all to play for. I am more than confident that we can be there at the end of the season.”

Reflecting on last week’s escape against Gerrards Cross, Morrick added: “I didn’t think we deserved to lose. We let them get away from 100-7 and had about four or five horrendous decisions when we were batting.”

Liam Hare, Johnny Gurney and Craig Wood return to Shipton-under-Wychwood’s squad for their home clash with Farnham Royal.

Christian Brian is unavailable, while Joe Cockroft drops to the seconds.

Shipton were unlucky not to beat Slough last week, but lie just seven points above the relegation zone.

“We played all the cricket against Slough and deserved to win,” said skipper Simon Hole.
