EDDIE Pepperell picked up another useful finish on the European Challenge Tour last weekend.

The 21-year-old shot 68, 72 and 68 to reach five-under-par after three rounds at the Scottish Hydro Challenge in Aviemore.

Heavy overnight rain forced the final round to be scrapped, leaving Pepperell in a tie for 17th place.

The result was enough to keep the Frilford Heath golfer in the top ten on the tour’s rankings, keeping him in contention for a European Tour card next season.

MORE than £4,000 was raised at the Jane Phillips MBE Memorial Golf Day at Chipping Norton.

Organised by assistant professional Danny Phillips, son of the charity’s co founder, 112 players took part.

Jock Hutchison was the outright winner with 41 points, while the team prize went to the Chippy club quartet of Brian Kay, George Kay, Chris Dyer and Will Preece with a total of 89 points.

The total was boosted by a ‘Dawn to Dusk’ challenge undertaken by Danny Phillips and club captain Alistair James.

The pair teed off at 4.40am and completed their 108th hole at 9.15pm – with Phillips finishing the six rounds on 16-over-par.
