GREAT & Little Tew skipper Andy Harris hopes a scouting mission will pay off when they travel to Gloucestershire for their first national round clash in the Yorkshire Tea Village Cup on Sunday.

Last Sunday, they watched Applerley beat Corse & Staunton by 20 runs in the Gloucestershire final.

“It’s important to get an insight, particularly as they know how their pitch will play,” said Harris.

“When you get to this stage of the competition you know that the opposition is going to be difficult.

“As long as we stay focused, as we have done in the previous rounds, then hopefully we will be alright.

“It’s an important weekend for us. We’re trying to focus on both the Cherwell League and the cup.

“On Saturday we want to stay on the tail of Horspath by winning at Great Brickhill.

“Then we have the match on Sunday.

“But we have to take each game at a time.”

Tew are without Matt Woods, who is unavailable.

Harris added: “It’s good to go to a new ground.

“They are going to have home advantage, but hopefully we can come out on top.”
