Eynsham’S Dave Messenger recorded a win and a second place in the two Alfa Romeo Classic Series races at Brands Hatch.
His success was testament to the hard work carried out by his Team Darnells Racing outfit.
They worked overtime to fix the gearbox problems which caused Messenger’s retirement at Silverstone four weeks ago.
After a difficult qualifying in wet conditions, Messenger drove his Alfa Romeo from the back of the grid to finish in second in race one.
Having suffered some minor body work damage, Messenger’s team again had to work hard to prepare the car for the second race.
And in even wetter conditions he went on to win.
