SCOTSMAN Henry Edwards continued his preparations for the Under 19 World Cup in Australia by hitting a splendid 107 for Abingdon Vale at Tiddington.

He added 150 for the fifth wicket with Mike Cook (48) before a late collapse saw Vale all out for 232.

But his efforts proved in vain as Tiddington cruised to 236-4. Aussie opener Sammy Thomson hit 71 and Will Cooper 58, then Will Goodman (44) and Nick Pykett (35) fell late on.

Tim Foster took 5-64, but narrowly failed to bowl Aston Rowant 2nd to victory at home to Long Marston.

Rowant were defending 192, thanks to Mark Walker (64) and Archie Standing (36).

Simon McLeman took 5-106 and Pete Toovey 3-39 before Adam Wells (37), Matthew Wareham (36) and Matthew Storey (30) saw Marston to 194-8.

Sandford St Martin’s dismal form continued with a 68-run home defeat against Challow & Childrey.

Vishane Perera plundered an unbeaten 116, fellow opener Ryan Gordon hit 88 and No 3 Nigel Hume 36 not out in Challow’s 253-1 dec after only 40 overs.

Chris Thompson (73) and Martin Anson (39) put up a fight, but Sandford were all out for 185 in the 55th over, Olly Dimbylow taking 4-33.

John Allcock’s unbeaten 59 saw Oxford 2nd reach 183-9 at Wolverton Town, Hakim Khan claiming 3-47.

Town then eased to 184-6 in only 41 overs. Sean Potter hit 90 and Aky Hussain 54.

Steve Roberts bagged 5-34 and Matty Watts 3-47 to dismiss Twyford for 165 and deliver a nine-run win for Oxford Downs 2nd, despite Tanveer Nadeem’s 49.

Justin Cantrill hit 51 and Matt Holyland 39 in Downs’ 174, Sam Roberts taking 4-53 and Adam Bone 3-40.
