Cumnor reached the Yorkshire Tea Village Cup’s Oxfordshire semi-finals after a dramatic four-run victory over Cropredy.

The hosts managed to defend a below-par total of 139 all out and will now entertain Oxford Downs.

Only 19-year-old James Lee mastered the conditions for Cumnor, who opted to bat after winning the toss.

Opener Lee top-scored with 42, while Mark Kirsten, who hit 23, was the only other batsman to pass 20.

Josh Deegan (3-24) and Mark Twynam (3-6) were Cropredy’s most successful bowlers as Cumnor’s innings lasted 31.1 overs.

Cropredy looked well-placed at 124-5 with three overs remaining, but lost four wickets in the 38th over.

They needed four off the last ball to win on fewer wickets, but were all out for 135.

Ed Somerton (29) and Joe Fox (27) led the batting charts, while Adam Cook claimed 3-14 and Jamie Douglas 3-19 in Cumnor’s win.
