JUSTIN Penrose hit an unbeaten 127 for Challow & Childrey 2nd, but they still lost at Banbury 4th.

Challow’s 214-3 proved inadequate despite the best efforts of Daniel Alderson (3-50) and George Hook (3-64), as Sam Ryan hit a fine 113 to steer Banbury to a three-wicket win.

An unbroken partnership between Darren de Bruyn (77no) and Matthew Keenan (54no) helped Horley maintain their winning start to life in the Cherwell League.

Thame Town 2nd had made 189-8 through Alastair Tho-mas (34) and George Patey (30), while Dave Eaton took 4-39 and de Bruyn (3-65).

But Horley recovered from an early wobble to win by six wickets with four overs left.

Abingdon Vale 2nd looked well placed after Will Barker (59), Chris Butcher (54) and Jordan Ford (35) helped them rack up 217-9 at Didcot.

David Slade took 4-57 for the home side and then watched Ian Demain (92no) and Simon Pritchard (81) bat brilliantly to take Didcot to 221-1.

John Mackie (86) and Nick Edmondson (49no) led Tiddington 2nd to 160-2 in an eight-wicket hammering of Horspath 3rd.

The visitors managed only 158-7, Ned Murray hitting 35.

Michael Stackhouse took 5-67 to help Kimble dismiss Brackley for 178, of which Michael Lowe contributed 45.

Ben Mooney then hit 79 and Stephen Richards 44 as Kimble eased to 179-4 in 41 overs.
