Oxford slipped to their third successive defeat and prop up the Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League Division 1 table after losing by eight wickets away to Potters Bar.

After choosing to bat first, none of Oxford’s top seven batsmen played the major innings needed to build a big total.

The first three wickets all fell to the same combination caught at second slip by Will van de Maat off Marc Milligan.

They were 52-4 at lunch and slipped further to 118-7 before Francois Vainker (44no) and Stefan Van Dyk (35) led some late resistance to take them to 194.

In reply James Kettleborough scored an unbeaten century as Potters bar eased to victory in the 42nd over.
