GROVE ended the season in fourth place after battling back to win 22-17 at Slough.
The visitors took the lead with a penalty from fly half Dave Maryon, but Slough replied with a converted try.
Grove wing Harry Carr shot over betwen the posts following hooker Jimmy Wallbridge’s powerful run and Maryon converted.
Two tries and a conversion put Slough 17-10 ahead.
Slough had a prop sin-binned and Grove levelled with a try from replacement Tom Clipsham, converted by Maryon.
The hosts were held up before the ball was spun wide for wing Guy Nicholl to score.
Alchester closed with a 38-0 defeat at Milton Keynes, who secured a play-off spot by a single point on points difference.
The visitors struggled to contain Keynes, who scored six tries, while Tom Miles missed a penalty for the visitors.
