Conor McDonagh scored a double as Oxford City Nomads closed in on the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division title with a 3-0 win over Abingdon Town.

Louis Joyce was their other scorer.

They now need to beat Wokingham & Emmbrook in their last game to win the title.

Shortwood United, the only team that can deny Nomads the title, were held 1-1 by Flackwell Heath.

Jake Parrott put Shortwood ahead, only for Danny Jordan to level.

Kidlington boosted their survival hopes with a 2-2 draw at home to Wantage Town.

The hosts started well with keeper Gareth Tucker twice making good saves from Ryan Curtin and denying Jake Burgess.

On 34 minutes, Kidlington took the lead when Curtin, looking offside, slipped the ball past Tucker.

Two minutes later, Wantage levelled when Claydon neatly tucked the ball past Dixon.

On 53 minutes, Curtin restored his side’s lead, firing in after Tucker failed to cut out a cross.

However, minutes later Tom Butler equalised at the second attempt after Dixon kept out his initial shot.

Witney Town’s relegation fears increased following a 2-1 home defeat by Cheltenham Saracens for whom Andrew Crosskey and Carl Griffiths were on target. Andrew Younie scored for Witney.

Ardley United suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at home to strugglers Fairford Town.

Charlie Grabe and Jon Gabilondo netted for Fairford with Ryan Brooks replying for Ardley.

Henley Town lost 1-0 at home to Binfield, Josh Millar the scorer.

Thame United were beaten 2-0 by Slimbridge, with Alex Higgs and Jamie Martin on target.

Easington Sports beat Lydney Town 3-0 in Division 1 West, thanks to Pete Moulder, James Trevitt and an own goal.

Clanfield had their assistant boss Martin Staddon sent to the stand in a 2-1 defeat at Hook Norton.

Devon McCalla put Clanfield ahead from Mark Odom’s cross.

Keeper Joe Murrell denied Dan Bishop Clanfield’s second, and the visitors were made to pay when Liam Fudge equalised.

Clanfield were denied a penalty when Bishop was brought down by Ollie Brotherston, but the referee waved away their protests.

Fudge then set up Mark Dennis for what proved to be the winner.

Staddon was sent off at half-time for arguing about the decision.

Abingdon United Res lost 8-0 to Division 1 East leaders Newbury.

Darren Jones (3), Callum Willmoth, Jay Hill, Marc Piper, Kalief Madden and an own goal made up their tally.

Didcot Town Res lost 3-2 at home to Maidenhead United.

Lewis Noble scored a double for Didcot, with Jonathan Giles (2) and Ryan Tye hitting back for Maidenhead.

Warren McCabe hit a hat-trickas Milton United won 5-1 at Letcombe.

Kyle Allsworth (2) sealed the rout, with Adam Bruce replying.
