Dani Sordo was delighted to end the Rally Portugal on a winning note with victory in the final powerstage in the Banbury-built Prodrive Mini John Cooper Works WRC.
Sordo, who also claimed six fastest stage times on the way to finishing the event in 12th place behind Citroen’s Mikko Hirvonen, said: “I am really happy to win the powerstage, it is a great way to finish the rally.”
Teammate Patrik Sandell, competing for only the second time in the Mini WRC, was running as high as fourth on day three, before retiring when going off the road on stage 21.
