Chipping Norton’s Fergus Walkinshaw will be back on the Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup grid at Donington Park next weekend after rebuilding his car following the serious accident he suffered at Brands Hatch.

Having finished sixth and third in the opening two races, Walkinshaw was leading race three when contact to the rear of his Ginetta G55 approaching the Brabham straight sent him into the pit wall, then across the track to spin end-to-end into the opposing tyre barrier.

The Century Motorsport team have worked around the clock to strip the car back to its bare shell, before Walkinshaw joined the crew to rebuild his machine.

The first three races were all won by Tom Sharp.

Meanwhile, Walkinshaw’s brother, Sean, heads into the opening round of the Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship at Snetterton this weekend aiming for top ten results.
