Oxford C completed the double over Inter-Area C team champions Wallingford C by winning 3-2 at home for an 8-2 aggregate triumph, writes PETE EWINS.

Playing at Kennington, Bob Pincombe beat Dave Barnes 3,790-1,400 to put Oxford in front, before Mick Shephard levelled with a 4,700-3,010 victory over Ian Gordon.

Keith Hollis restored Oxford’s lead, defeating Paul Caistor 4,180-1,140, only for Terry Alder to level by beating Adam Thorn 7,210-3,730 with a break of 6,900.

In the final game, Craig Mace came up trumps after scoring 8,080 against Jimmy Robson for the winning leg.

In the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford League competitions, Dave Tooke knocked out Ian Moss in the men’s Individual at the Masons, winning 2-0 with scores of 13,390 and 9,050.

Steven Sheard disposed of Craig Mace 2-0 with scores of 14,760 and 17,560.

In the Off The Spot singles at the Comrades Club, Ian Gordon defeated Lewis Stratford on aggregate after the latter had to sink the last red in the 200 pocket to win by 30, but knocked the black peg over.

Mark Trafford overcame Pauline Withey 2-0.

The semi-final of the Kernahan Cup at the Vikings saw Bob Pincombe beat Ian Major.

In the final, he will face Keith Hollis, who saw off Geoff Mace.
