Adam Chapman made a surprise return to Oxford United after his loan spell at Newport County was cut short yesterday.
Both clubs had agreed to extend the 22-year-old’s stay for a second month on Saturday, but an injury to U’s skipper Jake Wright, who will undergo a scan on a back problem tomorrow, prompted the club to recall Chapman as a precaution.
