CHINNOR head coach Jason Bowers admitted his players were disappointed with their display against Oxford Harlequins, despite winning by 31 points.

Bowers said: “I think effective, but not spectacular would be my headline.

“We showed some real glimpses of why we are where we are in the league and scored some great tries through our backs.

“Then we showed why we frustrate ourselves with some sloppy tackles.

“We didn’t reduce our penalty count as well as we could have.

“All of the back three and both centres got involved and were very dangerous.

“We were disappointed with the performance. We knew we could have done a bit better.

“There is a lot more to come from us, but long may we continue scoring tries and getting bonus points.”

Quins forwards coach Jamie Cope said: “Our second half was far stronger. We just need to be a bit more clinical.

“We created opportunities against the best and most organised side in the league.

“Despite the scoreline, we were very pleased with how we dug in.

“We have got so many changes at the moment due to injuries and unavailability which is really affecting our back play.”

Cope added: “I applauded Chase when he scored that try up the touchline.

“It was a great finish, although the defence was bad.”
