WALLINGFORD cursed missed opportunities in a 15-12 defeat at Slough.
The visitors, who squandered at least ten try-scoring opportunities, trailed 10-0 thanks to two tries from Slough’s pack.
Wallingford hooker Ryan Hodnett scored after wing Henry Venners’s interception, full back Ralph Smith converting.
Slough sealed it with a try, Wallingford replacement Henry Pooler scoring late on.
Alchester fell away to lose 24-9 at Wootton Bassett.
Fly half Tom Miles put Alchester 3-0 and 6-3 ahead via a drop goal and a penalty, Bassett levelling with a penalty each time.
Miles gave Alchester the lead with a penalty on 42 minutes, but two tries, a conversion and two penalties won it for the hosts.
Alchester centre Jack Briggs was denied an interception try for a dubious offside.
