Oxford are through to the semi-finals of the women's EHL Trophy after winning 3-1 at Broxbourne.

After a goalless first half, Oxford went ahead through Jill Gordon, before Rachael Lammey made it 2-0.

Keeper Phil Swindell denied the home side with some fine saves before being beaten with five minutes to go, but Hayley Sawyer eased Oxford nerves with a third goal.

Oxford took the lead away to Teddington in South Clubs League Division 2 the previous day, but ended up losing 5-2 to stay in the bottom two.

Sophie Carter and Lyn Cockshott combined to set up Kim Haynes for the opener, Teddington replying with two goals of their own.

Sawyer levelled the scores, only for Teddington to regain the advantage before the break and add two more in the second half.

Oxford 2nd reached their quarter-finals of the EHB 2nd XI Trophy, winning 4-2 on penalty flicks away to Boots (Nottingham) after the tie finished goalless in normal time.

Bev Cousins, Ruth Bedford, Sally Whyte and Hayley Card each scored from the spot, while Laura Fyfe pulled off two excellent saves.

Oxford Hawks completed back-to-back Conference East fixtures to make it four games in nine days.

They lost 1-0 to Harleston Magpies on Saturday, Zoe Lamb having a goal disallowed in the dying minutes.

On Sunday, Hawks travelled to Old Loughtonians to compete on one of the new Olympic training pitches.

Becky Odlin finished a well-worked team goal in the second half to clinch a 1-0 victory and maintain their fourth place in the table.

Banbury went down 4-2 at home to Tulse Hill & Dulwich in Division 2 of the South Clubs League.

The London side were 3-0 clear by half-time and added a fourth before Banbury reduced the arrears through Sadie Lapper and Charlie Matthews.

Witney drew 2-2 at Hampstead & Westminster 2nd in Division 3A, a late goal denying them victory.

The home side led through a penalty-corner goal at the break, but Witney went 2-1 up via Joy Mangazi and midfielder Lucy Reading. They held on until five minutes from time when Hampstead equalised.

Bicester edged closer to promotion in Trysports Premier 2 with a 4-0 win over Oxford 3rd.

Player-of-the-match Chloe Ranson shone with some fine passing as Bicester raced into a 3-0 by the interval thanks to leading scorer Kath Crook (2) and Ella Weston.

Jan Southam added No 4 in the second half – and now Bicester need just one point for promotion.

Kidlington came from behind to draw 1-1 away to Witney 3rd in Division 2, Sherene Butlers scoring.
