Abingdon United, who were missing captain Ricky Allaway, Carl Evans and Danny Seaward, showed their battling qualities to secure a point from a goalless draw in Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West on Saturday.
Luke Carnell was nominated captain and produced a towering display in defence for Abingdon who had the better of the first half.
Stuart Young miskicked with the goal beckoniing while Aaron Parfitt forced Bishops Cleeve keeper James Nortei into a great save.
The hosts gained the upper hand in the second half with Michael Tambling and Mark Pritchett being denied by Abingdon keeper James Foster Abingdon Utd: Foster, Biddle, Angell, Smith, Carnell, Doyle (Christodolou 70), Kingsbeer, Packer, Parfitt, Young, Collier. Subs not used: Buck, Turner.
