Scott Rendell is confident that tonight can be the night he gets off the mark for Oxford United.

The striker has started the last two games, but has not found the net despite having a couple of chances.

However, the on-loan Wycombe man says that he feels he has shaken off any rustiness and is hopeful of breaking his duck against Barnet at the Kassam Stadium.

“I’ve had a couple of chances, a good one against Dagenham and another couple at Bristol Rovers,” Rendell said.

“I maybe snatched at them a bit, but I haven’t played games for a while and you can’t replicate that match situation in training.

“We should have got three points at Bristol, but we didn’t get beat and we can take that into Tuesday.

“I am feeling much better in myself now, having got 90 minutes under my belt and hopefully Tuesday can be the game I can break my duck.”

United go into the game on the back of a 0-0 draw at Bristol Rovers, having beaten Dagen-ham 2-1 a week ago.

The Daggers set up with a defensive formation, as many teams have done at the Kassam, and it is likely to be more of the same tonight.

“It’s going to be up to us to be patient and break them down,” boss Chris Wilder said.

“A lot of teams come here and set up in that way, which is a compliment to us and it is up to us to find a way around that with a bit of quality.

“I thought it was a really good performance at Bristol, and we want to carry that on against Barnet.”

Simon Heslop is available again after a heel injury and Andy Whing will be fit, despite breaking his nose on Saturday.

Barnet will be without the suspended Charlie Taylor, while Michael Hector is available again after injury.

Ex-U’s man Sam Deering makes his first return since joining the Bees last season.
