Banbury United were beaten 2-1 by an injury-time goal as their Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division game at Weymouth came to life in the last 15 minutes.

The visitors had the best chance of the first half when Josh Cole’s header from Ben Polk’s cross was saved by home keeper Nick Jordan.

Matt Ford opened the scoring for Weymouth in the 75th minute with the aid of a slight deflection.

Liam Dolman levelled for Banbury ten minutes later.

Keeper Andy Kemp’s long punt upfield bounced up for Dolman to volley into the net.

Banbury looked to have done enough to secure a draw.

But in the first minute of injury time, Ford swivelled and shot past Kemp after the ball fell kindly for him following a free-kick.

Tommy Kinch had a late chance for the Puritans, but was denied by Jordan.
