Forum A pulled off a shock as they ended defending champions Vikings A’s season-long winning record with a 5-5 draw in Division 1 of the Oxford & District Association.
Greg Boone excelled for Forum by beating Jingyu Sun and Alan Cherry, while Karl Bushell chipped in by beating Pavel Jaskolski 16-14 in the fifth and then saw off Cherry 11-5, 15-13, 14-12.
British Rail emerged 6-4 victors in their bruiser with Vikings B.
Two wins apiece for Nigel Taylor and Rob Williams gave Vikings hope, but that was matched by James Lovelock and Ade Noke.
Andy McColgan’s five set victory over Roel Dullens made the difference.
In Division 2, Vikings C held clubmates Vikings B to a 5-5 draw, with Simon Cox beating Markus Wagner on his way to a maximum.
Forum I crushed Gladiators B 7-3 in Division 3.
Guy Plowman was the star for Forum with three wins.
Division 4 leaders St James saw off Forum L 7-3, thanks to maximums for Bob Ford and Paul Guest.
