Thame A, inspired by a century break by Lee Richardson, came from behind to beat Abingdon Con 4-2 in the quarter-finals of the Gentworks Oxford & District League’s Buildbase Cup.

Abingdon, bottom of Division 1, gave the league leaders a fright when Nigel Barker beat Anwar Mahmood 89-12, 60--34, including a break of 48 in the first frame Richardson then showed his class with an outstanding 111 break, the highest in all competions this season, in the third frame as he defeated the unfortunate Steve Fenwick 133-1, 49-22 to level.

Darren Howard secured Thames place in the last four when defeating John dawson 73-26, 71-27, including a break of 65 in the first frame.

Division 3 side Cowley Con A received 16 points per frame start from their Premier Division opponents Abingdon RBL, who still won 4-2.

Kevin Higgs sewed up the match for Abingdon when he won the last frame 83-53 against Keith Pearce.

The semi-final line-up was completed by Fieldside and New Club B, who had 4-0 wins over Cowley Workers and Cowley Con C respectively.
