Unbeaten Oxfordshire duo Steve ‘Marvin’ Mullins and Daza Usher return to the ring next month at the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon.

The pair were present at the launch of the show which is being staged on Friday, March 23.

Witney-based Mullins, 31, has won both of his fights since trading in his vest last summer.

After a dynamic debut that saw him triumph over fellow England international Bobby Wood, he then bossed Trowbridge teenager Nick Blackwell in his next outing last December. Both wins were achieved on points.

Mullins said: “Three months between fights can seem like a long time, but when you are busy training it doesn’t seem that way.

“It is important to keep up the winning momentum to get a solid foundation at the start of my professional career.

Bicester light welterweight Usher, 28, is having his second outing after an impressive start in the paid ranks with a confident points win over Birmingham veteran Sid Razak at Chippenham just before Christmas.

He said: “The memory of that night will stay with me forever and I just cannot wait to get back in the ring.”

The identity of their respective opponents will be confirmed shortly.

Both men are keen to have the chance to box in their home county and promoter Keith Mayo is hoping to grant them their wish.

He said: “It is incredible that a professional show has not been staged in Oxford for almost 50 years.

“It is possible that it could happen later this year – I know Steve and Daza cannot wait for it to happen.”

Tickets for the Swindon promotion, priced at £35 and £60 (VIP/ringside seats) are available from Mullins on 07710 304212 and Usher on 07722 871785.

Meanwhile, Bicester Unique Fitness Centre’s light middleweight, Kevin Perry, saw off Hardnox’s Nathan Williams in his first fight at Bedford.

He stopped his opponent in the third round.

Bicester middleweight Adam Broadbent needed only two rounds to see off Hardnox’s Lee Chandhar on his debut.
