Oxford United fans have the first chance to see the U’s latest signings when they host Dagenham & Redbridge at the Kassam Stadium tonight.

Although striker Scott Rendell and midfielder Mark Wilson have been at the club for two weeks since joining from Wycombe and Doncaster respectively, the big freeeze has meant they have yet to play for Chris Wilder’s side.

Also in the squad for the npower League Two clash is loan signing Mehdi Kerouche, who joined from Swindon last week, although it remains to be seen whether any of them will start.

Wilder, whose side haven’t played since the 1-1 draw at Burton on January 29, said it was important they get back to winning ways against the Daggers after the 1-0 defeat by Crewe and 2-2 draw with Hereford in their last two home games.

When the sides last met in the league, the U’s came away with a 1-0 win, with Robbie Hall on target.

“We’ve worked hard over the weekend preparing for tonight’s game,” said Wilder.

“We have to make sure we are prepared and focused, and go out to get a win.”

He added: “There’s not much difference between us and teams in third or fourth.

“They have scored four or five more goals than us and we have conceded less, and they find themselves eight or nine points clear of us.

“But we have drawn too many games. We have to make sure that when we are dominant and playing well, we don’t draw – we win.”

Meanwhile, Wilder said he was hoping to make an addition to the squad in time for tonight’s match.

He added: “We’re thinking about bringing one in for tomorrow night. We’ve brought Mehdi in and that takes us up to four.

“We’re working hard and we’ll see what happens.”
