Joseph Bonassisa, Oxford’s newly-crowned national junior champion, has celebrated his gold medal at the British International Karate Championships by unveiling a new sponsorship deal.
Under the agreement the 14-year-old, who won two bronze medals at the Karate England National Open championships at Loughborough last year, will switch from Adidas to Arawaza kit, under the guidance of AVA Sports.
The deal means the four-times international champion and England team member can concentrate on his preparations for the World Karate Championships in Serbia later this year.
AVA Sports director Dino Armagan said: “AVA Sports are proud to be sponsoring Joe.
“Not only is he a potential senior world champion, but he is also a polite and upright young man with a sense of right and wrong.”
