LEWIS Sumner (Bicester Community College) claimed the under 16 boys’ title in the most competitive event of the day at the Oxfordshire Schools Individuals Championships.
Sumner pipped Simon Price (Matthew Arnold) at Fitzharry’s School, Abingdon, while Jon Abbott (Chiltern Edge) and Daniel Moses (Henley College) were classy winners of the under 13 and 19 crowns respectively.
Ten-year-old Vicky Coll (St Edmund’s, Abingdon) showed why she is such a fine prospect by triumphing in the combined under 11 and 13 girls’ category.

Boys – Under 11: J Selby (St Nicholas, Abingdon) bt R Chamdal (Langford Village, Bicester). Under 13: J Abbott (Chiltern Edge) bt C Pritchard-Gordon (Summerfields). Under 16: L Sumner (Bicester Comm College) bt S Price (Matthew Arnold). Under 19: D Moses (Henley College) bt D Smart (Fitzharry’s, Abingdon).
Girls – Under 11/13: V Coll (St Edmund’s, Abingdon) bt S Whealey (King’s School, Witney). Under 16 – winner: K Brook (King’s School, Witney).
